Molecular carpet on silver

We present a molecular layer that covers the entire surface of the silver substrate (read: electrode), is not sensitive to the orientation of the surface - works very similarly for both Ag(100) and Ag(111), and reshapes the surface terraces and step edges to fit the molecular layer. Also, it provides electric dipoles for energy level alignment of organic semiconductors with metal electrodes and is robust against intermixing.
